I am not going to hand out anything plotwise for those who have not seen this film yet but my insight to everybody is to view The World’s End prior to viewing this one. The reason for this is due to the fact that the flick often endorsements things that occurred there and they will make even more feeling to the audience. I such as The World’s End when a flick’s closing is amusing sufficient to make me smile like a little kid. It additionally leaves you sort of feeling excited regarding exactly what The World’s Endindicates from this point forward. Actually appreciated the movie. Unsubstantiated that it was The World’s End in the series. Equally as excellent as the initial.

Good Laughs Although the Twist Doesn’t Really Work

The third film in Simon Pegg’s “trilogy” has the actor and four friends going back to their hometown to defeat the challenge of drinking in twelve different bars but it doesn’t take long for them to realize that the town isn’t what it used to be. THE WORLD’S END is a pretty funny little gem but I’d fall well short of calling it a masterpiece like so many others are. I think there are enough funny moments to make the film worth viewing but at the same time I think the film runs out of gas around the one hour mark or whenever the big twist happens. If you don’t want to know what the twist is then quit reading now. I thought the film started off good as Pegg’s worthless character has to get these four other responsible adults to go back and go on a drinking rampage. This led to several funny moments and especially as the friends are constantly wondering what’s wrong with Pegg. There’s also a running gag about his mother being dead that is quite funny even if it’s rather predictable on where it’s going. The twist turns this into a spoof of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS and I just don’t think the material is all that strong or original and especially considering what THIS IS THE END did earlier in the summer. I thought that film was a lot more clever with its ideas and funnier as well. The main reason to watch this film is for Pegg who is simply wonderful in the role of the drunk and best of all is how believable he is as this character. The pacing and timing of Pegg certainly helps carry the movie but he’s also surrounded by a good supporting crew. At 109-minutes I’d say the film runs a bit too long but there’s no question that fans of Pegg are going to eat this up.
